The first four months of the year have not been the happiest for the club. We lost our Secretary Erald O’Brien He will be sorely missed by all our members. Erald made a significant contribution to our Board meetings and was a pleasure to work with. Our deepest sympathies go out to Ruby and her family.
Neil Mackinnon has been in hospital for over two months. He has been released recently into the care of his sister Barbara. I am sure you will join me in wishing him a full recovery. In the meanwhile, the Treasurer position is being filled capably by Gary Upham.
Our first social of the year is coming soon - Wednesday, June 23th - Lobster or Steak lunch at the Banook Canoe Club, Dartmouth.
This year there are no parking problems! The newly surfaced parking lot on Nowlan St. should be ample parking for us. Come out and enjoy the first event of the year. Hopefully the weather will be fine and we can stand out on the club deck and watch any paddling activity.
