Our first social of the year is coming soon - Wednesday, June 24th - Lobster or Steak lunch at the Banook Canoe Club, Dartmouth. This is a great opportunity for you to visit the area and see all the preparations in progress for the 2009 ICF Canoe World Sprint Championships. Over 1300 athletes from 75 countries will be attending this event - August 12 to 16 . The City, the Provincial and Federal Governments have budgeted many interesting improvements including walking paths, new lights and speakers, improved parking, landscaping and signs to help make Dartmouth a world class facility for the 2009 and future paddling and rowing events. Due to possible parking challenges, your Board approved a shuttle to bring you from the MicMac Mall to the Lake Banook Canoe Club. Park your vehicle near the Mic Mac Mall main identification sign next to the Circumferential Highway adjacent to Pole # 28 and enjoy the comfortable ride to the club. The shuttle will leave the parking lot at 11:45 AM sharp so do not be late.
I will not be able to attend the Lake Banook lunch as I will be in Edinburgh, Scotland from June 20 to July 4 attending my son's wedding to a wonderful Scottish lass.
